We chose NMS for the reputation among local families and truthfully the aesthetics of the building on drive by’s. I also have to say I think having tuition pricing on your website removed my belief that it was going to be 40k a year for tuition. In my animal pharma sales world having transparency on pricing is proven to increase consumerism. No price shown feels like an elusive out of my price range thing. I easily found the tuition info on your site and classroom curriculum. Both which I recall thinking, oh my gosh I must enroll Emmett!
We chose Montessori because of the opportunities presented to the kids that other local schools might not be able to offer. We had heard great things. I tell other parents how grateful we are for the school and all the staff. They have been so wonderful and truly have allowed Griffin to blossom into who he is. I believe each child is unique and truly feel like the Montessori school staff have celebrated my kids differences and allowed them to express themselves in their own way. They’ve made learning fun and interesting. I was just telling a parent the other day about how I have to force Griffin to stay home when he doesn’t feel well. He has enjoyed the past three years in the JC and it’s been very relieving for me as a parent. I love the staff and my only selfish complaint is that the school doesn’t go all the way to 12th grade! I would recommend the school to anyone looking for their child.
We chose to enroll our children at NMS because it has the strongest reputation for well-rounded education in the surrounding area. While we initially planned to stay at NMS only through the preschool years, we have chosen to continue attending NMS because our children have more robust and meaningful learning opportunities than they would be exposed to in the public school setting. The NMS community is tightly knit. The staff understands and loves each child for his or her unique abilities. We know that when we send our children off to school each morning that they will be safe and loved, which makes all of the difference for us!
As a mom of four and an educator myself, I often tell other parents that NMS is the best choice for individualized, socially-connected, and robust learning opportunities for their children. My children are often complimented on their breadth and depth of knowledge and skills, including listing all of the states in alphabetical order, describing the features of each planet, counting in Spanish, and using ASL to sign their ABC’s, at ages four and five! NMS makes learning fun, interactive, and desirable, setting up with a lifelong thirst for knowledge.
I chose the Montessori school because of the higher level of involvement in different approaches to learning and the individualized learning techniques.
I tell other parents that I truly believe that the environment and culture has helped my son thrive and explore his own interests because it doesn’t take a cookie cutter approach like public school. The outside time and flexibility during class time has really given him a sense of control over his own learning.
I selected Montessori because I wanted Cali to get the best education possible in a safe nurturing environment. I wanted a small warm environment for Cali to learn and grow in. I researched Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy and it inspired me. I think it is wonderful that children have the opportunity to work at their own pace. I like that there are mixed ages so they can learn from other children who have mastered a topic or subject. I was confident the kids attending Montessori would be kind to each other. I have not been disappointed on any level with this school. The children are held accountable for mistakes they make and it is done from a place of compassion and learning. The age appropriate consequence fits the negative choice that was made. My hope is that someday they will expand to incorporate grades 9-12.
When I talk to people about Montessori I have everything good to say. I tell them I would never send Cali anyplace else. They see how intelligent she is and I attribute it to the education she’s received at Montessori. I tell them she has been going there since she was two and the tuition wasn’t much more than daycare. I tell them how she was not quite potty trained in September when she started but the school accommodated her starting and over December vacation she was completely self-sufficient with no accidents when she went back. If they say isn’t it expensive I let them know there is financial assistance available if they qualify. And I let them know about the discount for a second child who attends. I say success and a happy child who looks forward to going to school every day is priceless. Sometimes they ask if all of the regular curriculum is taught and I say yes of course and then some. It’s not just math, science & English class. Spanish, music, PE, art, field trips, are all a bonus!😊
We wanted an alternative option that really put our child’s needs first vs other traditional learning styles. We wanted an opportunity to help encourage growth at our child’s pace and for her to increase confidence. Socialization was extremely hard for our oldest prior to her enrolling and now almost two years later, the difference is unbelievable. She has grown in so many ways both emotionally and academically. We knew that we wanted to get our youngest enrolled as soon as possible. Her personality is different, but Montessori has adapted well to her needs. The entire team has been extremely supportive and helpful.
We tell other parents that we would highly recommend NMS school. The positive impact that the school has had on our children is remarkable and we are truly grateful to have NMS in our community.
We choose NMS for a few reasons. 1. The school size, we love the small, tight knit community. 2. We believe in the Montessori way. 3. And this being the biggest reason, children being at their own level.
I always rave about our schools teachers. As a child I moved A LOT! I’ve meet some good teachers, some not so good teachers and some phenomenal teachers. NMS has some Phenomenal teachers. Multiage classes give the teachers more time getting to know their students. How they learn, their personalities, what motivates them! Carrying that on to the next year, only makes for another great year! The school being smaller and tight knit, even when it’s time to move on to a new room you often already know the teacher!
We love NMS!
We’re lucky to live in a community where school choice is an option, and choosing Newport Montessori for our daughters was one of the best decisions we’ve made. What really drew us in was the way the school focuses on meeting kids where they are—developmentally, emotionally, and academically. It felt like a place where our girls would be seen and supported, and that’s exactly what’s happened.
Since starting at Newport Montessori, our daughters have grown so much—not just in what they’re learning, but in how confident and independent they’ve become. The teachers truly care and take the time to get to know each child, which has made all the difference.
Newport Montessori’s engaging curriculum and warm, community-driven environment helped my preschooler truly connect with letters and numbers - far beyond what we experienced in other programs. We’re so grateful for the thoughtful, hands-on learning!
